I am just SO anxious!

dont be anxious

I don’t know about you but I am excited about my future and what God has in store for me. I know God’s plans are the best and I literally CAN NOT wait! I am very impatiently waiting to marry my blessing of a boyfriend. I am so stoked to finish college. I am can’t wait to have a family; to become a youth pastor; to own a house. I am just  so anxious!

My anxiousness and excitement has made it difficult for me to be happy where I am at now. I am becoming more and more unsatisfied with where my life is.

Lately I have learned to be happy where God has put me here and now. God has put me where I am for a reason, why do I worry? Please don’t think I am in any way, shape, or form saying that we shouldn’t be excited for what is to come. We should, and I am! But we should not loose sight of the here and now; I should not loose sight of now.

As it is said so wonderfully in Kung Fu Panda (great movie!) by the master turtle dude. . . what is his name. . . ?

“Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery.  But today is a gift . . .  that’s why it’s called the present.”

May this challenge and help you as it has me.

  1. Great verse. Great quote. Wise words of wisdom from you, my dear. It can be so hard to live in the present, especially when we have dreams and goals that beckon us to look ahead. There’s definitely a balance to strike there, but I think you’re right to turn to scripture in those times. I also think of Matthew 6:4: “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

I’m a worrier. So, I need to remind myself of these verses time and time again. ;-)

    1. I actually have tiny little ravens tattooed to my foot to remind me of this very message. “Look at the ravens; they do not sew or reap or store away in barns, and yet you heavenly father feeds them. Are you not more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to their life?” Matthew 6:26-27

Yet still, I always need to remind myself! That God’s got me.

I always take the time to read and respond to your precious comments! They make my heart smile!
